The Department of Defense (Pentagon) said yesterday (Friday 29 August / August 2014), the American operations against the ‘Islamic state’ in Iraq will cost about 7.5 million dollars a day, on average, since mid-June last year, a figure that means that The ministry probably spent about $500 million, since it began participating.
He said the press secretary for the Pentagon, Admiral John Kirby, said that the costs ‘varied since the beginning in mid-June, but an average of about 7.5 million dollars a day.’ He said, ‘This is based on the processes that took place until the twenty-sixth of this month (August)’.
She said the Department of Homeland Security, yesterday (Friday), the United States is not aware of any specific threat to the American territory of fundamentalist ‘Islamic state’, but the Minister of Internal Security, J. Johnson, said in a statement, that the fighters’ Islamic state ‘and their supporters’ showed the determination and the ability to target American citizens abroad.”
He pointed out that his ministry has taken steps, during the summer, to enhance security at airports abroad, with respect to the direct trips to the United State.
